Lunch-Time Post

Well as much as I would LOVE to post all the pictures from our new house move-in weekend...I want to take the pictures during the day so natural light will come through all the windows and make everything look so pretty! So they are coming next!!

Move-in went very smoothly! We had speedy-demon movers that literally RAN everywhere they were going...even if they were carrying a whole bed. They arrived at 8am saturday morning and we had all the furniture and boxes in the new house...which is a 30 minute drive away...by 9:30!!! They were great. and cheap.
They left us with 1000 boxes to unload but then started the fun. We had to get the TV hooked up because the cable guy was coming later...well our TV goes in the built-in cabinetry in the living room which has a hole in the back to fit all the wiring...small problem...our wiring was apparently larger than the previous owner's TV wiring. SO Jeremy had to drill out a larger hole in the built-in's to get the cords through the cabinetry so we could plug everything in. It was an ordeal to say the least with sawdust going every which way. But he mastered it and now we have a great, working TV!
Next dilemma was the dryer. When the movers moved it in, our dryer had a 3 prong plug and the wall had a 4 prong receptor...problem. After 3 trips to home depot, we finally got the right cord. But that didn't mean we knew how to plug it in. So Jeremy gets to going on the electrician part of the job...hooking up wires...something still wasn't working. Finally Uncle Jody and Aunt Jill came to bring us the best lunch ever and graciously helped get this dryer back into commission. But to say the least...Jeremy did a GREAT job and could definitely help anyone with their dryer now if you need it ;)
We felt like that Home Depot commercial where the young couple just bought a new home and it floods in the basement and the washer is rocking and the gutters are falling off, and they have to call Mom and Dad and Home Depot to come fix it all! We're learning...
We unpacked boxes all day and got the kitchen totally set up and our bedroom working great! Hung curtains in our bedroom and then crashed on the couch to watch the new cable TV. Let me just tell you that, from what our last cable offered...a whole 40 channels...now that we have what seems like 4000 channels, Jeremy is in TV-Heaven. His favorite person of the day out of the movers, the security alarm people, the Weirs Furniture delivery guys....was the cable installer. They were best friends.
Sunday night a few of Jeremy's friends came over to watch the Cowboys came and we tried out the new backyard grilling!
He's a little excited...
Pics to come soon!
