Lights and Brights!
Before we moved into our current house, the previous owners had done a pretty good job of updating the lighting around the house to more contemporary lights. BUT there were a few rooms they either missed...or just had a different taste than me ;)
The Dining Room:
We don't really use this as a dining room at the moment, mostly because we don't have a formal dining room table.
I think, in reality, this room will really become a playroom (at a later date;), but i did find some cute playroom photos!) before we will use it as a formal dining room...
So I have been wanting to change the nasty chandelier with the tiny crooked shades on each light that shines from the arms of the light.

And when we use this room...we ALWAYS hit our heads since the chandelier hangs down as if it is supposed to be over a table!
My thought for this room is to find a pendant that can hang only a few inches from the ceiling, but isn't flush mount. Something with neat geo shapes, or a cool finish. I want to paint the room a dark grey and find a contemporary rug to coordinate...eventually ;)
Here are my few ideas!
Remember how "industrial" is going to be big in 2012?! (hint hint...see here!) These pendants are amazing, and still classy mixed with the industrial!
And the Breakfast Table area:
Right now, we have a flush mount dome. Yuck. And not only does it not look pretty, it puts off zero light. Wonderful. So my first request is MORE LIGHT!
This light I want to be much more simple that what would be in the dining room/playroom. Here are my thoughts ;)
WOW. Never in my life could i pull this off, but the picture sure does ;) Just had to add this in!
And lastly, this image just caught my eye today.I love the two little stool tables nested in front of the coffee table. Can i have some??
