Braided Bread Recipe!

I've made this on several occasions, and I think it is my most favorite bread...ever. And that is really saying something. If you know me well, you know bread is my favorite food group. And i love it all! You must try this. It does take a little time. But well worth it.

Braided Bread:

Ingredients:
1/4 c Warm Water
2 1/2 t Yeast (or one packet)
1 T Sugar
1/4 c Sugar
1 c Hot Water
1 Egg
1 t Salt
2 T Butter
2 1/2 C Flour
1-2 C more Flour

Instructions:
1. In small bowl, stir together warm water, yeast and sugar. Set aside for 10 minutes to rise.

2. In mixer, combine hot water, salt and larger amount of sugar, butter and mix well.

3. Once yeast has risen, add 2 1/2 C flour, 1 egg and the yeast. Mix all together (using paddle arm). Add 1 3/4 C more flour and mix until ball forms. If dough is still too soft, add more flour until the dough feels more like play dough.
Take off paddle arm and put hook on. Turn mixer to 2 and let machine knead the dough for 7 minutes.

4. Spray a clean bowl. Put dough in bowl and cover with a towel.

Let rise for 2 hours.
(at this point in my baking....a HUGE storm happened. And I will no longer have pretty natural light for all my pictures because it got suuuuper dark)

 5. After 2 hours, divide the dough into 3 equal sections. Form long strips out of each section and press the top ends together and begin braiding the sections until complete.

6. Let Rise
7. Whisk one egg, 1 T of water, sliced and diced fresh rosemary, and 1 t garlic powder.

8. Brush bread with mixture

9. Place on sprayed sheet and cook on 350 degrees for 14-18 minutes or until golden.

10. Eat up! It is especially good with an olive oil/vinegar mixture!
