Our Hawaii Filled Summer!
As a part of this "trying to get caught up" blogging, I figured i should update on our travels from this summer!
We had a chance to take a once in a lifetime trip with our best friends to Kauai.... and it was just as amazing as it sounds!
We literally took hundreds of pictures.... so i narrowed it down to the most important ones for this post ;)
Yep... we rented a minivan. Please don't be jealous, it was awesome. It got us all over that island AND our gear (and that is saying a lot)
For two weeks, we explored every beach there was to explore, hiked down every slippery, scary mountain you could find, and tried to capture each moment in a picture ;)
This was Tunnels Beach where the snorkeling was definitely the best
Sea Lodge beach was one of the most scenic, but quite dangerous to get to! Lots of boulders, and cliffs to climb over!
The whole crew!!
Sea Lodge Beach
As scared as I was.... i did it....and LOVED it. Zip Lining!!
We saw amazing views, and couldn't have seen them any other way than zipping through the rainforest!
On one side of the island, is a "mini grand canyon", which literally does look like the grand canyon!
The neat part about Kauai is you can go from the lushest place on earth to the driest place within a few miles. This over look into this lush valley was just a few miles from the canyon.
Our favorite dinner spot by far -- The Beach House.
Maybe the most memorable part of the trip? YES. An 8 mile hike over boulders, under trees, through rivers and down slippery steeps led to an amazing 300 foot waterfall that was completely worth it.
The views of this hike were breathtaking!
Ive never been so happy to see a waterfall ;)
Finally done with our 8 HOUR hike
And we couldn't leave without an ATV tour
With awesome views and a few waterfalls, we came back nice and sandy!!
Our last night on the island ;( So sad but leaving with a lifetime of memories!
